The toppers from Noamundi are from St. Paul`s Middle School, Maluka and from Katamati are from Naya Krishnapur ME School and Deojhar Nodal UP School. Jyoti Fellowship provides financial assistance for higher education to meritorious but economically backward Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe students studying in class VII to class XII to enable them accomplish their educational and career aspirations. Along with cash awards, the students were also provided with convertible yellow bags to carry books as well as use it as a small desk along with solar lamp and Lenovo tab to toppers. The total amount disbursed under Jyoti Fellowship today is Rs 13.28 lakhs.
The event at Noamundi Recreation Club was graced by Mr Pankaj Satija, General Manager (OMQ), Tata Steel along with Mr P K Dhall, Chief Engineering & Projects, OMQ Division, Tata Steel and Ms Urmila Ekka, Head Tribal Culture, Tata Steel and senior officials of Tata Steel Rural Development Society. At Deojhar, the event was graced by Mr Ajay Thakur, Senior Manager (Operations), Katamati Iron Mine, OMQ Division, Tata Steel.
