~Donates 10 road barriers to Nirsa Police for speed control and police check~

Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, has undertaken several initiatives to promote safety at its project locations for the welfare of its employees as well as the surrounding communities. Taking this commitment forward, Tata Power's Maithon Power Limited (MPL), the Company's 74:26 joint venture with Damodar Valley Corporation, celebrated 'Road Safety Week' today by donating 10 road barriers to Nirsa Police for speed control and police check.

The road barriers were handed over by Dy. CEO of MPL Mr P Thakur to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Dhanbad, Mr. Manoj Ratan Chouthe. The event, held at the New Nirsa police station, was attended by the Dy. Superintendent and the entire Nirsa police team, along with the senior officers of MPL.

Being an environmentally friendly organization, Officers of MPL, along with the police force, also planted 10 fruit tree saplings at the police station for the beautification of its premises.

This initiative by Tata Power was well received by the police force of Nirsa. The Senior SP of Dhanbad thanked MPL for its support in ensuring the safety of its force.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. P Thakur, Dy CEO Maithon Power Ltd., said, 'Tata Power has always been committed to the safety of its stakeholders. We at MPL, are happy that, through Road Safety Week celebrations, we have been able to help the Nirsa police with speed controls to help them do their duties even better.
