Sweett Group, the provider of professional services for the construction and management of building and infrastructure projects, is appointed by Pell Frischmann, via the Homes and Community Agency framework, on a regeneration project in the centre of Brixton for the London Borough of Lambeth.

The project, Your New Town Hall (YNTH), forms part of the Future Brixton Programme which aims to transform Brixton Town Centre and the lives of local people. The YNTH scheme will reduce the number of core office buildings Lambeth Council uses from 14 to two to save around £4.5m a year in running costs and invest in new homes and a new Civic Centre in Brixton - a new energy efficient building that will allow for a much-improved customer centre and Council offices. YNTH also includes the preservation and refurbishment of the Grade II listed Town Hall. Sweett Group is appointed as Technical and Cost Project Monitor and will also provide specialist technical advice where necessary across the project.

To fund YNTH, the London Borough of Lambeth in partnership with Muse Developments will develop three vacant sites into private and affordable housing. Sweett Group will provide specialist cost benchmarking services on the residential element to ensure value for money is obtained for the Borough.
