On 22 April SWARCO TRAFFIC ROMANIA (STR) and the City of Timisoara signed the contract to implement a Video Surveillance and Traffic Management System in the Romanian 300,000-inhabitant city. 134 intersections will get fully adaptive traffic control. 215 signal heads, 312 pedestrian signal heads, 260 on-board units, 230 CCTV monitoring systems, 17 LED VMS as well as 50 speed radar detectors and red light enforcement detections. The project has to be finished until the end of 2015 and also includes the prioritization of Timisoara's public transport at intersections.
