Sourcefire, Inc. (Nasdaq: FIRE), the creator of Snort® and a leader in intelligent cybersecurity solutions, today announced that the company was the fastest growing cybersecurity company on the annual Forbes list of America's 25 Fastest-Growing Tech Companies. Sourcefire® was named 15th fastest growing tech company nationally and number one in Maryland.

?Sourcefire's significant revenue growth is a direct result of our emphasis on technological innovation and customer success,? said John Burris, CEO at Sourcefire. ?We are delivering critical solutions that enable customers to more effectively and efficiently protect their most important assets. This recognition as the fastest growing security company on the latest Forbes list is great validation for our success.?

In compiling this year's list, Forbes looked at over 5,000 technology companies, looking for minimum sales of $25 million and sales growth of at least 10 percent over the latest 12 months. It also required median long-term (three-to-five year) earnings-per-share growth estimates to be greater than 10 percent. Forbes then ranked companies on their five-year sales growth, which needed to be in double-digit territory for each year.

Founded in 2001, Sourcefire delivers cybersecurity solutions that enable businesses and government organizations to protect themselves from the latest and most sophisticated targeted attacks. Sourcefire's flagship Next-Generation IPS (NGIPS) automates security through contextual awareness to give organizations maximum visibility and knowledge to protect against attacks. In January, the company announced the acquisition of ImmunetTM, expanding its security solutions portfolio – adding an advanced cloud platform for delivery of malware protection and extending the company's real-time detection and prevention leadership to the cloud.
