The Sourcefire Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) provides users with increased visibility into their networks, applications and the activities of their users, for more intelligent, effective and efficient protection. By identifying and providing context around potential vulnerabilities on the network, the Sourcefire IPSTM can automatically adapt to network changes, which reduces false positives and allows administrators to focus on the issues that matter most. With the ability to connect user IDs to IP addresses and traffic, Sourcefire is also able to correlate network events to specific machines and people, reducing the time needed to respond to a network incident.
