Sonda S.A. reported consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2016. For the year, the company reported revenues of CLP 816,159 million against CLP 891,122 million a year ago. Operating income was CLP 63,301 million against CLP 93,148 million a year ago. EBITDA was CLP 97,101 million against CLP 126,765 million a year ago. Profit from operating activities was CLP 54,515 million against CLP 87,623 million a year ago. Net income before taxes was CLP 45,275 million against CLP 83,099 million a year ago. Net income from continuing operations was CLP 31,927 million against CLP 47,545 million a year ago. Net income attributable to owners of the company was CLP 26,396 million against CLP 42,850 million a year ago. ROE was 5.5% against 9.0% a year ago. ROA was 3.2% against 5.3% a year ago. Earnings per share were CLP 30.3 against CLP 49.2 a year ago. Net operating cash flow was CLP 67,521 million, a 31.8% higher than in 2015. Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) amounted to CLP 51,393 million (USD 76.8 million) in 2016, and include: CLP 22,835 million (USD 34.1 million) invested in the purchase of fixed assets for internal use and for projects with customers; intangibles for CLP 3,054 million (USD 4.6 million); and permanent investments for CLP 25,504 million (USD 38.1 million).
For the quarter, the company reported revenues of CLP 209,567 million against CLP 243,283 a year ago. Operating income was CLP 5,804 million against CLP 25,946 a year ago. EBITDA was CLP 14,733 million against CLP 34,651 million a year ago. Net loss attributable to owners was CLP 7,197 million against net income attributable to owners of CLP 14,332 million a year ago, mainly due to lower operating income and higher taxes.
