SOMEC WINS NEW NAVAL CONTRACTS WORTH A TOTAL OF

63.4 MILLION EURO

The contracts, awarded to the BU Horizons: Engineered Systems for Naval Architecture and Building

Façades, concern 7 cruise ships, 2 of which are optioned, mostly for luxury operators.

San Vendemiano (Treviso), 27 June 2024 - Somec S.p.A. (Euronext Milan: SOM), specialising in the design, production and installation of complex turnkey civil and naval projects, has announced that its BU Horizons: Engineered Systems for Naval Architecture and Building Façades, has been awarded 3 contracts for a total value of 63.4 million Euro.

The first contract, signed with a leading shipbuilding group, covers two ships for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, a company specialising in luxury cruises and owned by Norwegian Cruise Line Holding.

The second contract, signed with the same shipbuilding group, covers a further four ships, two of which are under option, for Oceania Cruises, also owned by Norwegian Cruise Line Holding.

The third contract, on the other hand, was signed with a major German shipyard, one of the largest in the world, to build a ship for Disney Cruise Line, an American company owned by the Walt Disney Company, specialising in Disney-themed cruises.

The peculiarity of these 7 ships is a new balcony concept, which foresees a large module of more than 15 square metres for the numerous suites. In detail, Somec will supply the complete glazing of the ships, including: balcony system with balustrades and partitions, cabin windows, glazing, windscreens and balustrades in the public areas, skylights, command bridge and special fire rated glazing.

Work will start in the second half of 2024 and continue until 2029, with volumes - and therefore revenues - evenly spread over the period.
