for the new building of University of Massachusetts Medical School

Somec S.p.A., listed on MTA market of Borsa Italiana, through its controlled company Fabbrica LLC, has acquired a new order worth more than 14 mil USD for the Landscape - Building Façades segment.

The new project consists of the engineering and manufacturing of the new research and education building's curtainwalls of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, with expected delivery in the first quarter of 2022.

The Umass NERB- New Education and Research Building -is a 10-story building that develops an 11.000 square meter glazed surface. The new building in the Worcester campus will host biomedical research and education facility (For more info on the project: https://www.umassmed.edu/NERB/)

Somec Group is doubly proud of this new project: first of all, because it's a state of the art biomedical research centre, and on the other hand because it's a further confirmation of the group strategy for the development of the American market. Throught Fabbrica LLC, the Group has acquired in 2020 new orders on Building Façades segment worth over 120 million USD, to be delivered in the next two years. Consistently with the communication to the market, the boost to the Building Façades segment comes from a bold demand for life-science building from public and private-public investment.

The project development and its economic effect in 2021 lead the company's estimates for the year 2021 to a full sales volume recovery and a return to pre-Covid growth rates. The Group's total backlog at 30.06.2020 was 720 million euro, unaudited; during 2020 the Group has communicated an order intake worth more than 253 millions of euro.
