Scientific Learning Corp. has announced the formation of the 2019-20 Customer Advisory Board. The board will serve as a forum for customer feedback and inform the ongoing development of evidence-based solutions that target the root causes of reading difficulty in the brain. The Customer Advisory Board members will share their expertise and insights into educators’ and students’ immediate and long-term needs in the areas of reading and language intervention. They will offer timely observations and comments on all aspects of the Fast ForWord program and customer experience, including user design, features, and functionality. In addition, they will share best practices, recommendations, and suggestions for improvement. Their knowledge and experience will inform current and future product development and enhancements. Each Customer Advisory Board member will serve up to 24 months. The 2019-20 board members include: Kim Baker, Title I director/literacy coach, Oconto Unified School District; Shannon Gilfeather, special education teacher, Spokane Public Schools District 81; Joyce Kerins, director, Neuron Learning; Daniel Ortman, cognitive coordinator, Brain Train America; Alicia Pirtle, Fast ForWord instructor, Grand Prairie Independent School District; Gretta Rogne, director of digital learning, New Caney Independent School District; Alicia Swann, audiologist, Auditory Processing Center LLC; and Lisa Wilson, reading assistant, St. Mary Parish Schools.
