On November 21, 2017, Salesforce.com, inc. announced that, effective November 21, 2017, Alexandre Dayon, President and Chief Product Officer, would change roles to become President and Chief Strategy Officer. The company also announced that, effective the same date, Bret Taylor would assume the position of President and Chief Product Officer. Mr. Taylor joined Salesforce in 2016 through the acquisition of Quip, where he was founder and CEO. Taylor will be responsible for driving Salesforce's global product vision, design and development, and go-to-market strategy. Dayon will lead strategic initiatives, working closely with Salesforce's customers on product direction and transformation. Both executives will report to Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff. Prior to founding Quip, Taylor served as the CTO of Facebook, which he joined in 2009 after it acquired FriendFeed. Bret also spent several years at Google, where he co-created Google Maps. Dayon joined Salesforce in 2008, when the company he founded, InStranet, was acquired by Salesforce.
