Patria has awarded a new contract worth roughly $117.7 million to Saab for work in support of the Finnish Navy's Squadron 2000 mid-life upgrade programme. Saab will function as one of the major suppliers for the naval programme under the arrangement. The scope of the project includes the modernisation and enhancement of four of the navy's Hamina-class fast attack crafts. Deliveries for the mid-life refurbishment project are slated to begin this year. The deal will see Saab provide the Trackfire remote weapon station (RWS), 9LV combat management system (CMS) and 9LV fire control system (FCS), which includes the Ceros 200 fire control director. The 9LV CMS is used as command and control centre for several advanced surface ships and submarines. It is designed to provide naval forces with enhanced operational capabilities and support all mission types, ranging from littorals to the open ocean.
