The Holiday season tends to bring out the best in a lot of us. It's the time of year that a little help can go a long way in lifting the spirits of an individual, a family, or a whole town.

This year, Range continued to help those who are food insecure, but also rose to the occasion to help a town in need.

"We seek out opportunities throughout the year to make a positive impact in the areas where Range operates. The holiday season creates a unique opportunity for us to step up alongside those in our community in an effort to ensure that every family feels supported." Said Range's Community Relations Specialist Christina Kramer.

2000 Turkeys Telethon

Range hosted the 2nd annual 2000 Turkeys Telethon prior to Thanksgiving, which again was a huge success thanks to our business partners and the community. The telethon raised more than $54,000 for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The money raised helped feed struggling families in Washington County for not only Thanksgiving but for the whole holiday season.

Range matched all donations up to $20,000 as part of the fundraiser. The telethon was created last year in lieu of the in-person food drive.

The hour-long live telethon featured live music, cooking demonstrations, and interviews with elected officials, community leaders, and business owners. Range volunteers worked the phone bank that was set up in the Southpointe Multi-function room to accept donations and pledges from community members.

Saving Christmas in Burgettstown

The town of Burgettstown Pennsylvania was left without Christmas cheer this year after rains from Hurricane Ida ripped through the region. The flooding took a toll on the town, destroying the town's Christmas lights and decorations, which left the community devastated.

"The Christmas lights made Burgettstown," said Jerry McClain, assistant fire chief for the Burgettstown Volunteer Fire Department. "They mean a lot. The community loves the Christmas lights. (The borough) didn't know what they were going to do about Christmas lights."

Burgettstown resident Kobe Sarracino wanted to help save Christmas, and she reached out to Range hoping for help. After hearing of the situation, the Range team stepped up with a $10,000 donation which helped to buy new Christmas decorations.

"It's awesome. I still can't believe it," said Sarracino. "I had tears in my eyes. Because of Range's donation, that enabled us as a town to make our town more festive for the holidays."

Toys for Tots

Range employees took a break from work to play Santa Clause again this year. With help from our vendors, we were able to purchase and donate more than $5,000 worth of toys for the Marine Toys for Tots of Washington-Green Counties. Range has supported the local chapter of the non-profit for many years and is happy to continue to help them reach their annual goals to help make kids' Christmas morning special.

Days of Giving

Range also supported many other non-profits this Holiday season as part of our Days of Giving. Range was encouraging our employees to use their charitable donation match this time of year. Also, the non-profit that received the most employee votes in each office location received $5,000. This year we selected St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Central PA Food Bank, and the Fort Worth: Ronald McDonald House.

Our goal was simple, to lift spirits and help those in need this time of year. We hope you all have a safe, and happy holidays!
