Marks Opening with Release of New miniDOSE

San Jose, Calif. - March 27, 2012 - RAE Systems, the leader in toxic gas detection systems and portable detectors, today announced the establishment of a branch organization and company in Japan. The new branch offices will help to accommodate the expansion of the RAE Radiation Detection Products & Specialized Sensing Solutions, which are in high demand in Japan.

The branch office is located in JETRO IBSC (Invest Japan Business Support Center), 7th Floor, ARK Mori Building, 12-32, Akasaka 1-chome, Minato-Ku District, Tokyo. The staff working there will be mainly engaged in the sales, service and customer support of RAE Systems radiation detection products.

Scheduled activities at the opening ceremony include the official release of a new dosimeter product called miniDOSE.

The announcement of the recognized requirement for "Personal Exposure Control" will be provided in a speech given by Professor Yoshihiro Yamaguchi, Director of the Advanced Emergency Medical Service Center at Kyorin University. There will be an open dialogue at the meeting, which is specifically designed for direct communication with end users and those who wish to understand the need for the measurement of radiation dose and accumulated exposure by the individual.

Mr. Tadao Inoue, a representative of the main sponsor and the President of the Institute for Nuclear, Biological, Chemical and Radiological Defence, a non-profit organization, will also attend the opening ceremony.

After the accident and ecological disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, the Dose RAE 2, a personal electronic dosimeter for X-ray and gamma radiation detection dosimeter, previously developed by the company, made a great contribution in "Rescue Japan" and won high praise from the many Japanese customers and end users, impressed by its highlighted features of high sensitivity, wide measurement range, credit-card-sized compact design, accuracy and relative low cost.

Principally for child protection, RAE Systems has specially developed another personal electronic dosimeter product, the RAE mini DOSE.

This instrument meets the needs of both children and their parents, in measuring and recording the individual radiation exposure of the wearer, when located in any area of possible contamination. The predominant characteristics of the compact and innovative design, multiple colour choice, ease of operation and convenience in recorded historical data that is stored in the instrument, which can be downloaded for medical checking, we believe fulfils the requirement for, "Personal Exposure Control."
