Qatar National Cement Company announced earnings results for the year ended December 2013. The company registered an increase in net profit to QAR 436 million (USD 119.7 million/EUR 87.6 milion) for the twelve months to December 2013, compared to QAR 425.3 million a year earlier. The earnings per share stood at QAR 8.88, up from QAR 8.66.

The company has announced its plan of constructing its fifth plant at Umm Bab. The new project is expected to produce as much as 7.5 thousand tons of clinker per day.
