PM seeks measures to develop stock market effectively

The global financial and monetary market is forecasted to continue facing challenges.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed an official dispatch requiring relevant ministries and agencies to enhance measures to develop Vietnam's stock market in a safe, transparent, effective, and sustainable manner.

The dispatch emphasized that the global financial and monetary market is forecast to experience complex changes in the future that are hard to predict, thus likely affecting the capital, financial, and stock market in Vietnam.

To ensure the safe, transparent, effective and sustainable development of the stock market, Prime Minister Chinh asked the Ministry of Finance to coordinate with relevant agencies to closely monitor market changes in order to adopt timely measures to stabilize and develop the market.

They were instructed to closely coordinate in managing fiscal policy, monetary policy, and other macro policies to help promote economic growth, stabilize the macro-economy, control inflation, and ensure major balances in the economy, thus creating the conditions to help the stock market develop, which is considered an effective channel for attracting medium and long-term capital for the economy.

They were also directed to closely monitor the development of both domestic and international stock markets and capital sources that enter and exit the market to adopt timely and effective measures to prevent risks and ensure market security.

It is also necessary to regularly review mechanisms and policies and complete the legal framework on stocks and the stock market to make timely and appropriate supplementations and amendments if needed to bring them in line with international practices and commitments as well as the development demand of the stock market, according to the dispatch.
