PGN Shares Goodness with Orphans and Opens PGN Smart House

One of the innovative business lines of state-owned gas company Perusahaan Gas Negara (IDX:PGAS), also known as PGN in the housing sector is now accessible to the public. Through the company's subsidiary, Permata Graha Nusantara (PGN Mas), the property with smart home concept has been inaugurated today (19/12).

The pilot house of PGN Mas is shown as part of the BerandaMas project, a construction project of 350 housing units in Narogong, Bekasi.

"Today is the moment that we are waiting to give the opportunity to the public to see our smart energy-based housing program," said Jobi Triananda Hasjim, President Director of PGN, in Bekasi, Tuesday (12/19/2017).

Located in Vida Bekasi area, all units of the houses built by PGN Mas rely on environmentally friendly energy. In addition to having a solar panel facility with a capacity of 1,300 VA, these houses will be integrated with PGN's natural gas network, fiber optic network, as well as underground utilities.

"This housing will be the first home in Indonesia based on energy, or Indonesia's First Energy-Based Housing Estate," said Jobi.

Jobi said the smart house project will be a pioneer residential project with the use of good energy for everyday activities. "Electricity needs of TVs, refrigerators, lights, and other appliances will be sourced from solar energy from morning until the afternoon," he explained.

The BerandaMas open house event that uses smart house concept is also aimed to spread the benefits of the good energy of natural gas. In addition to being clean and safe, the use of natural gas energy in the house gives advantages to residents because it is more efficient.

"Homeowners can save on electricity and fuel expenses for daily needs because all housing units are connected to the PGN gas pipeline," he continued.

Another breakthrough by PGN Mas is allowing residents to control the use of electronic devices such as lamps, fans, air conditioners, and other electronic devices using applications.

"So that despite being away outside the house, residents can turn off and turn on electronic equipment in their homes," Jobi explains.

The house at BerandaMas was designed by renowned architect Andra Matin. In this BerandaMas program, PGN Mas will build several types of houses.

A total of 350 housing units will be developed. The plan will be four types of houses, namely Type Tanagi 64/60 (width of building/width of land), Banu 80/72, Anila 95/84, and Adanu 116/105.

To increase the comfort of the dwelling, PGN Mas also build all the facilities that support the concept of the dwelling. Support facilities include club house, house of worship, playground, jogging track, and one gate system, as well as supporting infrastructure such as toll road.

Sharing the Good with the Orphans

The BerandaMas open house event became an opportunity for PGN to all hand over aid as a form of corporate social responsibility.

PGN, together with PGN Mas, provide assistance to the community and orphanage around the complex area of the construction of the BerandaMas complex.

Still in the series of events, PGN Mas also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Graha Sarana Duta, a subsidiary of Telekomunikasi Indonesia (IDX:TLKM) in property segment. The MoU is on Synergy of Asset Empowerment.

"We hope the activities carried out today will be a new story in an effort to encourage the utilization of natural gas in various sectors in Indonesia," Jobi added.

About PGN

PGN is a state-owned company formed by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia with the aim of building the national economy by prioritizing the needs of the people towards a just and prosperous society materially and spiritually, as stated in the legal basis of the birth of PGN as stated in President Regulation Number 19 Year 1965.

In carrying out the mandate, PGN has pioneered the development of natural gas pipelines since 1974. It is not easy to pioneer the energy conversion when Indonesia is still experiencing the glory of petroleum production. Yet PGN's struggle has yielded its current results. With over 7,278 kilometers of transmission and distribution pipelinessuccessfully being developed, PGN has successfully channeled natural gas to meet domestic demand equivalent to 23 million liters per day. PGN supplies natural gas to power plants, industries, commercial businesses including restaurants, hotels and hospitals, gas refueling stations, as well as households.

In line with the increasing demand for natural gas in the country with limited resources, PGN continues to seek strategic solutions to ensure supply for consumers and prevent the scarcity of natural gas in some areas. Currently

PGN is looking for new gas supplies, especially from locations close to existing infrastructure, and seeks to obtain larger volumes to be allocated for domestic market usage.

In an effort to increase transparency and ease of funding for gas infrastructure development, the Government, in 2003, with the approval of the House of Representatives, took steps to make PGN an open company. Currently the

Company is a public state-owned company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The government owns 56.97% shares in the company, while the remaining 43.03% shares are owned by the public.
