POSCO : 10 billion KRW donated to neighbors in need

- POSCO Family participates in the sharing campaign in continuation of last year

POSCO and POSCO Family companies delivered a donation of 10 billion KRW for neighbors in need to the Community Chest of Korea.

The 10 billion KRW delivered consists of 8 billion KRW from POSCO, 1 billion KRW from POSCO E&C, and 500 million each from POSCO Specialty Steel and Daewoo International.

President Jong-tae Choi who delivered the donations said, ??Through the establishment of a social enterprise and indirect support activities, POSCO has not only been providing jobs for the socially weak, but also has been carrying out diverse support projects for multi-culture families including wedded migrants and their children, preparing a multi-cultural era. This year is more meaningful in that POSCO Family members have proactively participated in the 1% sharing campaign.??

Meanwhile, POSCO and its investing companies have been donating 10 billion KRW each year for neighbors in need since 2007 as well as carrying out various regional volunteer projects including the POSCO Family Volunteer Corp in Pohang, Gwangyang, Seoul and Incheon.

Also, donations collected through the POSCO Family Employee 1% Sharing Campaign will be used to support welfare facility and steelhouse construction, bilingual teacher training program for international marriage migrant women, as well as multi-culture family children bilingual specialization programs.
