Myers is one of 50 executives deemed to be thought leaders, trailblazers and risk-takers to whom the public turns to explain in detail the industry's most newsworthy moves, insights, advances, setbacks and new concerns.

"This honor is a tribute to Doug's focus, forward thinking and ability to position PHI as a leader in innovation and advanced technologies. We are placing an increased emphasis on raising the company's security posture," said Joseph M. Rigby, chairman, president and CEO, PHI. "As technology grows, the electric industry as a whole is placing an increased emphasis on both cybersecurity and physical security. Doug's natural ability to collaborate, along with his insight, have delivered real progress on both fronts."

Myers gave an in depth interview to Smart Grid Today on cybersecurity that was published Sept. 17.

The 50 Smart Grid Pioneers range from industry leaders working inside conglomerates to entrepreneurs at small firms and utility executives such as Myers, who are working on smart grid solutions to electricity challenges around the industry.
