Pegasystems Inc. announced that the State of Maine has selected Pegasystems as their transformational platform to help improve operations and deliver new services. The State of Maine will leverage Pega technology to enable accelerated deployment and scale to help meet growing demand for services and benefits. The State of Maine is deploying Pega to help reduce the time to successfully resolve blocked unemployment claims and help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The new omni-channel program is designed to accept unemployment claims via the state's call center or online via a self-service portal. Payment on claims is often delayed due to missing wages, wrong wage details, no employer account information, and more. Currently, the state's unemployment staff is required to execute a number of time consuming and error prone manual processes in order to pay a claim.

The Pega solution provides the State of Maine automation that will help to improve the ability to correct these issues automatically and to improve the user experience and efficiency. Key to Maine's decision to deploy Pega was the ability to deploy via a secure and reliable cloud platform including the ability to easily and safely move applications and/or data to and from the cloud while helping to maintain security, privacy, regulatory and compliance requirements. Pega also proved a more effective way to modernize and leverage aging legacy systems than packaged applications or manual coding.
