  Pinduoduo Inc., a Chinese e-commerce platform, named Lei Chen its chief executive, effective immediately. 


  Mr. Chen was a founding member of the company and has been its chief technology officer since 2016, Pinduoduo said. Zheng Huang, who was serving as CEO and chairman, will keep his role as chairman. 


  Before joining Pinduoduo, Mr. Chen was the chief technology officer of Xinyoudi Studio. He studied computer science at Tsinghua University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
