Parker Sporlan Releases New Transcritical CO2 (R-744) Gas Cooler and Flash Gas Bypass Control Valves

Orlando, FLJanuary 25, 2016- Sporlan Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has released a new range of Parker Sporlan valves and controllers rated 140 bar for transcritical CO (R-744) high pressure systems.

The product range is designed to satisfy equipment manufacturers' control needs in the field of CO transcritical systems using a high pressure flash tank. The line features five Gas Cooler valves (GC-10,

-20, -30, -40, and -50) for system capacities from 7 to 200 Tons (25 to 700 kW). These valves offer the flexibility to be applied in flash gas bypass applications as well. In order to extend the range of Flash Gas Bypass valves, two additional FGB valves are offered (FGB-60 and -70).

The gas cooler and flash gas bypass valves have a uniquely characterized pin and port for exceptional flow control. The gas cooler/flash gas bypass valves can also be applied in heat reclaim applications to modulate the flow to subsequent reclaim coils. According to Sporlan Electric Valve Product Manager, Dustin Searcy, 'Systems will benefit from the high resolution actuator and rapid full stroke actuation. Synthetic seats provide tight seating capability.'

The PSD4 interface board can be paired with the valves, along with an optional backup power module. The remotely mounted interface is designed to accept a standard 0-10 V or 4-20 mA analog input. When powered through the PSS4B backup power module, each control can drive one valve closed upon loss of primary power.
