Panasonic Launches Intel Core i5 Powered Fanless, 7.0, Windows 8.1 Pro Fully-Rugged Tablet

Panasonic launched the fanless, 7", Windows 8.1 Pro fully-rugged tablet powered by fourth Generation Intel Core i5 vPro processor. Designed for mobile workers of all kinds, the Toughpad FZ-M1 is also particular suited as a more flexible and capable replacement for ageing rugged PDA devices in logistics, transportation, retail, manufacture, government and emergency services. The Toughpad FZ-M1 fanless design is possible because it is the first to be powered by the fourth generation Intel Core i5-4302Y vPro processor.
This powerful new processor belongs to Intel Core i5 CPU family. It delivers exceptional performance with a very low power consumption of just 4.5 Watts, compared to the regular 15 Watts, keeping heat generation to a minimum. The Toughpad FZ-M1 comes with 4GB RAM (8GB optional) and 128 SSD (256GB optional).
A lite version of the Toughpad FZ-M1, with the latest Intel Celeron processor will also be available mid 2014. The lite version will feature the Windows 8.1 operating system.

- avionics, industrial automation, communication and entertainment systems (10.8%): in-flight entertainment and communication systems, electronic component assembly machines, welding equipment, projectors, professional audio-visual systems, computers, tablets, mobile communication systems and equipment, etc.;
- energy storage systems (8.9%): cylindrical lithium-ion batteries, dry batteries, primary/secondary lithium batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, lithium-ion batteries, energy storage modules and systems;
- other (12.2%).
Net sales break down geographically as follows: Japan (43.2%), China (13.4%), Asia (14.7%), Americas (18.7%) and Europe (10%).
