ONTSU Co.,Ltd. (TSE:7647) announces a share repurchase program. Under the program, the company will repurchase 5,000,000 shares, representing 2.56% of the outstanding shares for ¥200 million. The purpose of the program is to implement a flexible capital policy in response to changes in the business environment, enhance capital efficiency and improve shareholder returns. The program will run until September 29, 2017. As of June 30, 2017, the company had 195,260,292 shares outstanding and 1,353 shares in treasury.
Ontsu Co Ltd is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the retail of food and sundry goods. The Company operates through four business segments. The Food and Sundries Setailing segment is engaged in the operation of 100-yen stores such as FLET'S and 100-yen consulates, operation of franchise chains, and plan, import, and sale of general merchandise for 100-yen stores. The Karaoke segment is engaged in the sale and lease of karaoke equipment and related products. The Sports segment is engaged in the operation of the JOYFIT sports club (franchise), the FIT365 sports gym (franchise), and the LAVA hot yoga studio (franchise). The Internet Protocol (IP) segment is engaged in the lease of real estate and store facilities and operation of coin-operated parking lots.
