Nortech Systems Incorporated Announces Board Changes

On December 10, 2020, Philip Smith was appointed to the Board of Directors (the Board") of Nortech Systems Incorporated (the Company"). Mr. Smith is a managing director of Duff & Phelps, an investment banking firm that provides valuation, corporate finance and other services. Mr. Smith provides services in the area of Healthcare M&A advisory and is based in the Minneapolis office. Mr. Smith has more than 25 years of healthcare experience as a mergers and acquisitions investment banker and executive operating officer. He has expertise in assisting public and private companies as well as private equity firms. Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Mr. Smith was a managing director with BMO Capital Markets (formerly Greene Holcomb and Fisher) where he focused on healthcare mergers and acqusitions. On December 10, 2020, Dr. Dan Sachs was appointed to the Board of the Company. Dr. Sachs is a founder of Respicardia Inc. (FKA Cardiac Concepts), and Mainstay Medical Inc., and Program Director of the Innovation Fellows Program within the Institute for Engineering in Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He was previously a venture capital investor with Investor Growth Capital and Spray Venture Partners, for which he was the founding investor in CoTherix Inc. (CTRX, FKA Exhale Therapeutics), Neuronetics Inc. (STIM), and other private companies. He served on the Board of Directors of Neuronetics Inc., CoTherix Inc. (acquired), CHF Solutions Inc. (acquired), Respicardia, Inc, and Mainstay Medical Inc. He previously served as Instructor in Medicine in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Nortech Systems, Inc. is a provider of design and manufacturing solutions for complex electromedical devices, electromechanical systems, assemblies, and components. The Companyâs design services span concept development to commercial design, and include medical device, software, electrical, mechanical, and biomedical engineering. It offers a range of value-added engineering, technical and manufacturing services and support, including project management, designing, testing, prototyping, manufacturing, supply chain management and post-market services. Its manufacturing and engineering services include complete medical devices, printed circuit board assemblies, wire and cable assemblies, and complex higher-level electromechanical assemblies. All of its operations fall under the Contract Manufacturing segment within the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry. Its customers are original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the medical, aerospace and defense, and industrial markets.
