Nokia announces the expansion of its relationship with NL-ix, Europe's largest Distributed Internet Exchange Provider (IXP), by extending the deployment of service routers with speeds of up to 800GE from the Netherlands to more than 100 data centers.

NL-ix had already deployed Nokia 800GE systems in its Amsterdam data centers, where average daily traffic regularly peaked above 8 Tb/s in 2023.

With the Europe-wide deployment of Nokia 800GE systems, NL-ix is boosting its network from a localized Internet exchange point to a European enterprise connectivity platform capable of delivering carrier-grade resilience.

' With 800GE routing, NL-ix has a platform for relentless Internet traffic growth and sustainable business connectivity that sets new benchmarks for reliability, performance and scalability', commented Mark Vanderhaegen, Director of Webscale Business at Nokia.
