The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has approved NCC Group to provide cyber incident response services to organisations that have been victims of advanced attacks and those that form part of the critical national infrastructure.

Run by the NCSC, the CIR scheme is designed to assist the UK's most critical networks and organisations when they fall victim to targeted, sophisticated cyber attacks.

In order to join the scheme, NCC Group had to meet a number of certification conditions including proving its expertise across a wide range of incident response requirements in intelligence, management and technical domains.

The team also had to provide evidence of experience in helping government, critical national infrastructure and public sector organisations deal with the aftermath of cyber attacks.

Robert Horton, European MD of Security Consultancy at NCC Group, said: 'We're proud to be part of the CIR scheme and the accreditation recognises the efforts and capabilities of our UK Cyber Defence Operations team.

'With cyber attacks on the rise, it is vital that organisations are able to receive the right support in times of crisis and we look forward to continuing to work with our customers and government partners.'
