Monotype Imaging Holdings Inc. announced changes to its board of directors. Monotype cofounder and former president and chief executive officer, Robert M. Givens, who has served as chairman since November, 2006, is retiring as of the day following Monotype's 2014 annual meeting of shareholders, which is expected to take place on May 5, 2014. After his retirement, Givens will hold the title of chairman emeritus.

Robert L. Lentz, a member of Monotype's board of directors since August 2008, has been appointed chairman of the board, and will assume these responsibilities at the time of Givens' retirement. In 1986, Givens, together with the current president and chief executive officer, Douglas J. Shaw, founded the business that would eventually become Monotype, growing it from a small organization to a publicly traded company in 2007, now with annual revenues of $166.6 million and 350 employees worldwide.
