Metro International S.A. ("Metro International"), the international
newspaper group, today announced that Frank Mooty, Chief Financial
Officer, has decided to leave Metro with effect from the 30 September
2008. Anders Kronborg, currently Chief of Staff, will replace him.

Frank has made significant contributions to Metro International
during his tenure helping to develop the new strategy and improving
the quality of Metro's financial systems and reporting.

Per Mikael Jensen, CEO, commented:  "The Board and I would like to
extend our gratitude to Frank for his commitment to the company. He
has worked very hard in a focused and dedicated way and has been a
very valuable member of the executive team. We wish him all the best
for the future."

Frank Mooty will be replaced by Anders Kronborg, currently Chief of
Staff at Metro International. Anders has extensive experience from
the financial operations of media businesses. Before joining Metro
International in December 2007, he served as CFO of Danish
Broadcaster TV2. Before this he had numerous executive positions with
Danish newspaper Group Berlingske Media A/S, then owned by Orkla
Media, including CFO and MD for Berlingske Tidende.
