  On January 29, MCC held a Young Employee Symposium at its Beijing-based headquarters for young employee representatives to express their opinions and suggestions on the building of young talent teams, reform and development of the company and construction of the headquarters. Chen Jianguang, Deputy General Manager and a member of the Leading Party Group of the China Minmetals, Chairman of MCC and China MCC, and Secretary of the CPC Committee of MCC, attended the symposium. He carefully listened to the thoughts and wishes of the representatives of young employees and had cordial discussions and exchanges with them. In his speech, by quoting sentences from classical literature works of China, Chen expressed the company's thirst for young talent and emphasized the importance of young people to practice at the grass-roots level. He put forward the following three expectations on the future development of the company's young employees.

  First, we must grasp "three opportunities". Opportunity 1: MCC continues to show an upward development trend. We young employees must have high ambitions and be practical, and fully show our talents when we are building a better MCC. Opportunity 2: The high-quality development of the company requires high-quality talented people. We should work hard to achieve our goals, keep learning new knowledge and refining our character, and improve our skills in work. Opportunity 3: The construction industry is undergoing transformation and upgrading. We should make innovations actively, and be the forerunner, pioneer, and dedicator at the forefront of the times.

  Second, we must balance "five relationships". 1. The relationship between "restrain the growth" and "speed up the growth": We should concentrate on our work, and show our value with practical performance. 2. The relationship between "authorities" and "grassroots": We should firmly carry out our role of "leading, serving and supervising", serving all subsidiaries with great efforts and taking the lead to make profound ideological changes in marketization and commercialization; we should also actively devote ourselves to the development of our grass-roots frontline, and take it as the best stage to refine our ability and improve our skills. 3. The relationship between "specialization" and "versatility": In addition to laying a solid foundation and improving our skills in a single specialty, we should also practice ourselves in different posts and levels, trying to become a high-quality comprehensive talent. 4. The relationship between "individual" and "collective": We should integrate our personal development with our company development, think like we are business owners rather than employees when doing our work, and strive to realize our self-value and corporate value. 5. The relationship between "gain" and "dedication": We should carry out assessment through scientific and effective performance appraisal methods, and try our best to make it transparent, fair and impartial.

  Third, we must effectively improve "seven abilities". Young employees should bear in mind the requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping that young cadres should improve the "seven abilities". We should be brave to face problems and active in work, so that we can overcome problems and difficulties. 1. Political ability: We should be good at viewing things from a political perspective and knowing the political situation, and should constantly improve our political judgment, understanding and execution abilities. 2. Ability of scientific decision-making: We should improve our abilities to analyze and judge the situation, formulate and implement strategies, and motivate and discipline the team. 3. Ability to investigate and research: We should go deep into the grass-roots frontline, grasp the actual development of our company, understand what the masses think, hope and want, find out the rules and make accurate efforts according to the actual situation. 4. Ability to reform and tackle difficulties: We should have the passion and determination to reform and actively explore ways and means to adapt to the development of our company, so that we can better cope with difficulties and challenges. 5. Ability of emergency response: We should make plans in advance, keep learning and improve our professional skills, so that we can solve problems in a timely and effective manner in case of crisis. 6. Ability to work with the masses: We should always put the masses in mind and do practical work for the masses, making cadres and workers happier and improving their sense of gain. 7. Ability to implement: We should seriously and carefully implement our work; we should also establish a comprehensive system, improve our skills, uphold right attitudes, and prove our abilities with practical actions.

  At the symposium, 13 young employees representatives from the headquarters shared their personal growth experiences, thoughts on future development, and ideas on job responsibilities and group management. They expressed that they should continuously strengthen their ideological refinement, political training, practical exercise and professional training, and strive to become pillars of society that can be of great use and capable of undertaking important tasks, so that they can make contributions to the high-quality development of MCC.

  Heads of MCC Office, MCC Human Resources Department and MCC Youth League Committee and 21 representatives of young employees from the headquarters attended the symposium.
