PEABODY, Mass. (AP) _ Meridian Bancorp Inc. (EBSB) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $17.1 million.

On a per-share basis, the Peabody, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 33 cents.

The holding company for East Boston Savings Bank posted revenue of $70.5 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $47.3 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $67 million, or $1.30 per share. Revenue was reported as $186.3 million.

Meridian Bancorp shares have decreased 3.5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $19.38, an increase of 23% in the last 12 months.
