Mayfield Group Holdings Limited has secured a contract to supply battery management equipment to Optus for deployment on batteries within exchanges. The equipment provides the capability to remotely monitor the condition and performance of large batteries; an important capability considering the critical role of batteries in the Optus network. The contract term is 2 years, with the option to extend a further year, and has a forecast value of $600,000. The battery management equipment incorporates ATI's Socius technology which has been installed in more than 300 remote telecommunication locations across Australia as an integral component of an ATI telecommunications solution. This contract is the first large sale of the
technology as a stand-alone product and indicates the broader potential of the application.
