Manulife Financial Corporation has announced that Roy Gori takes over as its president as of 5 June, 2017. Currently senior executive vice president (EVP) and general manager of the company's Asia Division, Gori will be in charge of its global operating businesses and will report to chief executive officer (CEO) Donald Guloien. He will head its Canadian, US and Investment operations and Asia as well. He will oversee the development and execution of its business strategy. Based in Hong Kong presently, he will relocate to Toronto and after immigration approvals. Additionally, senior EVP and general manager of Canadian Division Marianne Harrison will report directly to Gori; so will Craig Bromley, senior EVP and general manager of US Division; the next senior EVP and general manager of Asia Division once appointed will; and Warren Thomson, senior EVP and chief investment officer will also report to Gori. Linda Mantia, senior EVP and chief operating officer will report to Gori on Corporate Strategy and continue to report to the CEO on all other areas of responsibility. Finally, having joined joined Manulife from Citi in early 2015, Gori was head of Consumer Banking, North Asia and Australia and Regional Head of Retail Banking, Asia Pacific, which included responsibility for Citi's insurance and wealth management businesses. He has worked and lived in Sydney, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong.
