HOUSTON (AP) _ LyondellBasell Industries (LYB) on Friday reported fourth-quarter profit of $726 million.

The Houston-based company said it had profit of $2.18 per share. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs and to account for discontinued operations, were $3.63 per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.85 per share.

The oil refiner and chemical company posted revenue of $12.83 billion in the period, beating Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $12.32 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $5.62 billion, or $16.75 per share. Revenue was reported as $46.17 billion.
