LG Electronics Inc. announced that the company is introducing its 2013 "LG Studio" family of premium built-in home appliances at this week's International CES(R) (booth #8204). LG Studio is designed to deliver a winning combination of innovative technology, energy efficiency and ultra-premium styling for an immediate upgrade to any modern kitchen. The LG Studio model is a built-in, 42-inch side-by-side refrigerator which boasts an impressive 26.5 cubic foot capacity.

All Studio refrigerators incorporate LG's energy efficient Linear Compressor, a proprietary technology designed to help keep food fresher for longer and requires less power to operate. LG Studio includes a full suite of modern kitchen appliances including ranges, wall ovens, warming drawers, cooktops, microwave ovens and dishwashers. These appliances have been designed with seamless integration in mind, with clean lines and a unique, modern feel that enhances every kitchen's decor.

All LG Studio appliances come with a premium stainless steel finish, including distinctive door handles that add a unique, sophisticated look. The company's premium built-in collection also includes a new ultra-large capacity three-door refrigerator offering 25-cubic-foot capacity equipped with the company's unique Door-in-Door system. Catering to consumers' "on-the-go" lifestyle, the company's convenient Door-in-Door feature consists of a compartment within one of the refrigerator doors allowing consumers easier access to everyday foods.

The company's slim-depth three-door refrigerator stands flush with the surrounding cabinets, creating a sleek, seamless appearance. Both models also feature the company's innovative Slim Space Plus icemaker which frees up valuable top-shelf space by moving the ice maker into the refrigerator door, giving the company's Door-in-Door model an extensive amount of shelf space for a three-door model. Additionally, the company's extra-tall ice and water dispenser can accommodate a wide variety of pitchers, due to its extra-tall height of 9.2 inches.

The company's refrigerators also come with adjustable shelving and sliding door baskets, while multiple pull-out drawers allow for the utmost in customized organization, enabling consumers to quickly locate exactly what they need. LG Studio refrigerators are ENERGY STAR qualified in recognition of their energy efficiency. The refrigerators are built around the company's Linear Compressor, one of the company's four core technologies in major appliances.

Typically, a refrigerator's compressor is either running at full capacity or turned off completely. The company's Linear Compressor, on the other hand, varies output according to need to help achieve fewer temperature swings, leading to lower energy consumption. With fewer moving parts and greater efficiency, the motor is backed by a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

The new Studio refrigerators also feature the company's proprietary Smart Diagnosis, a technology which helps customer service representatives quickly and efficiently troubleshoot mechanical issues over the phone, limiting costly, inconvenient service calls and in-home visits. If an in-home visit is required, this technology helps the field technician arrive on site with the correct parts, reducing the need for multiple visits. For minor problems, such as when the refrigerator door is unintentionally left open, the refrigerator will alert the owner through its display panel.

Sleek, contoured doors and hidden hinges complement the premium design of LG Studio refrigerators. Highlighted by bright LED lighting in the walls and a horizontally brushed stainless steel finish, these refrigerators are as sophisticated as they are functional. SmartDiagnosis is designed to supplement existing methods of problem identification and may not be able to troubleshoot all issues.
