MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today that Larry G. Hill has been appointed business unit general manager in support of the company's Mission Support Business Unit (MSBU), effective immediately.

Since joining SAIC in 2005, Hill has served in a variety of executive positions, including strategic planning, deputy business unit general manager, and acting general manager of SAIC's space and geospatial intelligence business. In March 2011, he was named deputy general manager of the MSBU and, in August, began serving as acting general manager of that organization, which provides mission support in geospatial intelligence, intelligence analysis, technical operations, linguistics and cultural intelligence and mission services domains within the United States and abroad.

In 1997, Hill retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he held progressively responsible roles as intelligence analyst, satellite system engineer, program manager, and as staff officer serving at the Pentagon with responsibility for a satellite program providing unique intelligence to armed forces and other national agencies. He entered private industry, working as a manager, program manager and strategic planner for a number of intelligence and military programs. Hill reports to Stu Shea, president of SAIC's Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group.
