Heijmans and Syntrus Achmea have signed a turnkey purchase agreement for the construction of 86 energy-neutral homes and two commercial spaces in the new residential neighbourhood New Brooklyn in Almere, close to the Almere Poort railway station. The project will generate revenue of € 28.5 million for Heijmans. Construction is scheduled to start in February 2022.
Almere Poort
This project includes a total of 23 ground floor duplex homes, 23 upper floor duplex homes and 40 apartments with average floor space of 81 m². The two commercial spaces will be 375 m². All the homes will be energy neutral thanks to excellent insulation, district heating and solar panels on the roofs. Residents will be able to park their cars in nearby public space, and some of these parking spaces will be equipped with electric charging stations.
Planned delivery
The planned delivery of the 86 new homes will divided across Q4 2023 and Q1 2024. The project is part of New Brooklyn, which in the coming years will see the addition of a total of around 1,400 new homes in the government-regulated social rental, mid-rental, liberalised rental and owner-occupier segments. The architecture of the New Brooklyn neighbourhood is inspired by the well-known borough of Brooklyn in New York.
