Financial Results for Second Quarter of the Fiscal Year Ending March 2023
To all KIMOTO supporters,
Shoichi Kobayashi, Director, General Manager, Digital Twin Division

This is a report from the general managers and division heads of the Technology Division, Sales Division, Digital Twin Division, and Administration Division on the consolidated business results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022.

This time, Kobayashi of the Digital Twin Division will give the report.

Profile of Shoichi Kobayashi

Consolidated results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, showed a decrease in revenue and in increase in profit as follows.

The impact of global price hikes and economic stagnation led to production cutbacks in the mobile industry, including smartphones, and supply shortages of semiconductors led to a reduction in car production, resulting in difficulties for a variety of our products (adhesive films and hard-coat films) associated with these industries.

Despite these conditions, we are increasing the number of new projects for products using different base materials and sales of coating liquids in the industries (automotive, consumer electronics, medical, and interface) that we have targeted in our Medium-term Management Plan, and we are expanding our new contributions to the market. We will continue to adapt to market trends.

In the digital twin business, the use of 3D data used in i-Construction and BIM/CIM in the civil engineering and surveying industries-a policy of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism-is progressing smoothly, and work to create 3D data for the National Resilience Project is also on the rise and proceeding largely according to plan. We will continue to create and provide high-quality, high-value-added data to meet the needs of even more customers.

KIMOTO Farm has harvested 311 bales of Mie Koshihikari rice (Minori no Hyakunenmai). This year's rice features an all-premium taste value (the value of the rice's flavor) of 86 points or higher. In addition, the KIMOTO Dahlia Garden boasts about 3,000 dahlia plants of 70 varieties in bloom, and since an article about the Dahlia Garden was published in the Chunichi Shimbun newspaper on September 29, many visitors, not only those living in the local area but also from far away, have delighted in coming to the garden every day.

We truly hope that KIMOTO fans will continue to support us in the years to come.
