Kimberly-Clark Corporation announced earnings results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2020. For the fourth quarter, the company announced sales was USD 4,836 million compared to USD 4,583 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 749 million compared to USD 751 million a year ago. Net income was USD 539 million compared to USD 547 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.59 compared to USD 1.6 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.58 compared to USD 1.59 a year ago. For the full year, sales was USD 19,140 million compared to USD 18,450 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 3,244 million compared to USD 2,991 million a year ago. Net income was USD 2,352 million compared to USD 2,157 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 6.9 compared to USD 6.28 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 6.87 compared to USD 6.24 a year ago.
Kimberly-Clark Corporation specializes in the manufacturing and the marketing of hygiene products and personal care. Net sales break down by family products as follows:
- protection and personal care products (52.3%): disposable diapers, training pants, diapers, feminine protection products, etc. (Huggies, Pull-Ups, Little Swimmers, GoodNites, DryNites, Sweety, Kotex, U by Kotex, Intimus, Depend, Thinx, Poise, Plenitud, Softex and other brand names) ;
- household hygiene products (30.8%): tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, hand towels, paper napkins, wipes, etc. (Kleenex, Scott, Cottonelle, Viva, Andrex, Scottex and other brand names);
- professional hygiene products (16.7%): hand towels, tissues, towels, apparel, disinfectants, industrial wipers, etc. (Kleenex, Scott, WypAll, Kimtech, KleenGuard and other brand names);
- others (0.2%).
At the end of 2023, the group had 82 production sites worldwide.
Noth America accounts for 54.5% of net sales.
