Ethiris VMS 15.0 - Now Launched

2023-05-31

Ethiris VMSIn version 15.0, we have added additional functionality to the Ethiris SDK and improved performance in Ethiris VMS, among other things by moving decoding of video from Ethiris Server to Ethiris Mobile for Android.

Ethiris SDK provides a powerful tool for developers who want to integrate an external system with Ethiris VMS to gain access to advanced video functionality. In version 15.0 we have introduced several important features that make the Ethiris SDK complete.

Ethiris Mobile for Android has been updated. Previously, Ethiris Server has always transcoded both live and recorded video before sending it to Ethiris Mobile. This has meant a high load on the computer running Ethiris Server. With the new Ethiris Mobile for Android, decoding of video is done by default in the mobile instead of in Ethiris Server. This relieves Ethiris Server and allows more mobile streams to be delivered simultaneously with the corresponding hardware for Ethiris Server.

Ethiris VMS is at the forefront of technology and development is progressing rapidly, not least for network cameras. Today's highest-resolution network cameras have a resolution of over 30 MPixel. Our ambition is that Ethiris VMS will be able to receive video from all today's network cameras and also handle future cameras with even higher resolution. In the new version, we have therefore tested receiving video streams with up to 200 MPixels resolution in Ethiris VMS with successful results.

Ethiris VMS 15.0 contains these and several other exciting news that we believe all users of Ethiris will appreciate.
