Iron Road Limited Announces Infrastructure SA Commences Water Supply Collaboration
planning, investment, delivery and optimisation. As part of the development of a Business Case, the South Australian Government's NWS is assessing the viability of constructing a desalination plant and pipelines to meet the increasing demand for water by communities, agriculture, mining and emerging green energy industries in the far north and Upper Spencer Gulf areas of the State. The South Australian Government notes that a secure and scalable source of quality water will support the establishment of the hydrogen economy and ensure existing sectors can grow, diversifying and strengthening the regional economy. The scope of the joint conceptual study will entail investigating the design and cost of developing water supply pipelines between the proposed desalination plant and Cape Hardy. Extensive stakeholder engagement will ensure any proposed infrastructure aligns with the Company's Cape Hardy green hydrogen and industrial port precinct initiative. The Company will progressively share specifics of the water supply collaboration with the six pre-qualified proponents currently engaged in a bid process for a preferred green hydrogen developer lead role at Cape Hardy under proposed exclusivity arrangements.
