Interconexión Eléctrica has secured a contract to design, build and operate a 275km power line linking non-conventional renewable energy projects in northern Colombia to the national gird. ISA submitted an annual estimated revenue proposal of USD 76 million to beat off rival bids from Grupo Energía Bogotá (USD 96 million), Celsia (USD 113 million), Alupar (USD 120 million) and NP Latam Holdings (USD 135 million), according to documents seen by BNamericas. The infrastructure will connect the Grupo Energía de Bogotá-operated La Loma substation in Cesar department and ISA-Intercolombia's Sogamoso substation in Santander department. The 500kV line, for which ISA has a 25-year operating contract, is due online by end-2023. Energy ministry planning unit UPME previously declared the La Loma-Sogamoso project 'urgent', arguing that the line is needed to connect generation projects that were awarded contracts at last year's firm energy and renewables supply auctions. The line is ISA's third renewable energy grid connection project, joining the Cuestecitas-Copey-Fundación and Refuerzo Costa Caribe lines.
