To help understand the impact that digital technologies have on business, the economy and society, ING has joined forces with leading Massachusetts-based business school, MIT Sloan School of Management.

ING has joined the school's Initiative on the Digital Economy (IDE).

ING Group Chief Economist Mark Cliffe said by joining MIT IDE, ING's Research team will be able to strengthen its digital economy analysis.

'This will inform our company's strategic priority on innovation, especially about the dramatic disruption that is unfolding in people's lives and in businesses. It is a real privilege to have access to MIT's cutting edge research network. We look forward to sharing a fresh stream of thought leadership on innovation with a broader community of academics and practitioners.'

David Verrill, MIT IDE's Executive Director said they are proud to announce that ING has joined their community as the newest member of the IDE.

'Through this membership, ING and MIT IDE will collaborate to explore challenges and opportunities and drive the conversation on the digital economy.'
