Chemviron to Sell Diatomaceous Earth and Perlite Assets to Imerys | Calgon Carbon Corporation

PITTSBURGH, PA - Calgon Carbon Corporation ("Calgon Carbon" or "Company"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuraray Co., Ltd. (TYO: 3405) ("Kuraray"), announced today that its European business, Chemviron, has entered into exclusive negotiations with Imerys, a supplier of mineral-based specialty solutions headquartered in France, to sell its diatomaceous earth and perlite business.
The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, including the information and consultation of employee representatives, is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
