HMS, a wholly owned subsidiary of HMS Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ:HMSY), today announced that it had been awarded contracts by both the Iowa Department of Administrative Services and the Maine State Employee Health Commission to perform dependent eligibility audit services for their State Employee Health Benefit Plans. Under these contracts, HMS will review the health plans to identify enrolled dependents who may not be eligible for coverage under plan guidelines.

?HMS is pleased to offer this new product to the government healthcare market,? said Bill Lucia, Chief Executive Officer of HMS. ?Healthcare costs have continued to rise and the economy has wreaked havoc on the financial strength of State Employee Benefit Plans. Dependent eligibility audit services are proving to be a key weapon in the cost containment arsenal for these plans, helping them to control premium payments and claims expense.?

HMS recently completed a dependent audit for the Kentucky State Employee Benefit Plan.
