HCC awarded Rs 289 crore contract by Gujarat Government Mumbai, January 3, 2012: HCC (Hindustan Construction Company Ltd), a leading Engineering & Construction Company, has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for an Rs.289 crore contract to construct a bulk water transmission system for Gujarat Water Infrastructure Limited, a Government of Gujarat Undertaking. The work involves construction of a 57 km long water transmission pipeline between Dhanki and Maliya villages under the

'Swarnim Gujarat Saurashtra-Kutch Water Grid Programme (NC-31)'.
This is an EPC contract involving the construction of a 32 km long MS Pipeline of 2150 mm diameter (ID) and 14.5 mm thickness and a 25 km long MS Pipeline of 2000 mm dia (ID) and
13.5mm thickness. The project scope also includes commissioning and maintenance for 5 years. The project will be completed in 12 months.
HCC's expertise in the water and irrigation sector spans from construction of dams, barrages, canals and pipelines to water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants and pre- stressed & reinforced concrete aqueducts. The Company has constructed 7 irrigation dams,
18 barrages, 35 water treatment plants, 70 sewage treatment plants, India's first and largest private sector water supply project in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu and has executed more than 25 km of tunneling at depths of upto 80m in the congested urban environment in Mumbai.
