Heron Lake BioEnergy, LLC announced earnings results for the second quarter ended April 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was USD 37.033 million compared to USD 15.604 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 2.369 million compared to operating loss of USD 6.419 million a year ago. Net income was USD 2.875 million compared to net loss of USD 6.242 million a year ago. For the half year, sales was USD 61.474 million compared to USD 42.285 million a year ago. Operating loss was USD 1.652 million compared to USD 8.768 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 1.104 million compared to USD 8.658 million a year ago.
Heron Lake BioEnergy, LLC owns and operates an ethanol plant near Heron Lake, Minnesota with a permitted capacity of approximately 72.3 million gallons per year of undenatured ethanol on a twelve-month rolling sum basis. In addition, Heron Lake BioEnergy, LLC produces and sells distillersâ grains with solubles and corn oil as co-products of ethanol production. The Companyâs segments include Ethanol Production and Natural Gas Pipeline. Heron Lake BioEnergy, LLCâs wholly owned subsidiary, HLBE Pipeline Company, LLC (HLBE Pipeline Company), is the sole owner of Agrinatural Gas, LLC (Agrinatural). Agrinatural, is a natural gas pipeline company that owns and operates the natural gas pipeline that provides natural gas to the Companyâs ethanol production facility and other customers through a connection with the natural gas pipeline facilities of Northern Border Pipeline Company in Cottonwood County, Minnesota.
