As indicated in the report last year, the board of Henderson International Income Trust plc has agreed to deliberately phase the introduction of new directors, and the retirement of current directors, over the next three years to allow sufficient time for new directors to familiarise themselves with the Company whilst retaining the right balance of knowledge, skills, experience and corporate knowledge on the board. In accordance with the succession plan, Bill Eason will retire at the conclusion of the 2020 annual general meeting, having been a director since the Company's launch in 2011. Bill also acted as the Company's senior independent director. On his retirement, Richard Hills will be appointed as the new senior independent director. Simon Jeffreys will be standing down as chairman of the board and a director of the Company at the conclusion of the annual general meeting in 2022.
