Brazilian airline GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes SA said its capacity rose 29% on month to an average of 476 flights a day in December, a month that included a holiday period that helped offset declines caused by Covid-19 restrictions.

The company Friday said it operated about 610 daily flights in December to meet the bump in demand. Its high-season network between Dec. 18 and Jan. 31 will offer an average of 558 daily flights, it said.

Transporting more than 89,000 passengers daily, the company posted gross revenue of 852 million Brazilian reais ($158.7 million) for the month, with an average load factor of 81%.

The company said it generated net cash for the second consecutive month, totaling BRL6 million a day. It had forecast net cash consumption of BRL3 million a day for the month, it said.

GOL said searches for its airline tickets grew 46% during the fourth quarter over the third. The carrier had liquidity of BRL2.5 billion as of the end of 2020, it said.
