Gazprom Neft's Moscow Refinery has begun producing a unique winter diesel fuel exhibiting enhanced performance at low temperatures. With improved environmental properties, this fuel can be used under temperatures as low as −32ºC. Production of this new fuel has been made possible thanks to the commissioning of the new Euro+ refining complex in July 2020.

Euro+ technologies mean winter diesels can be produced without the use of additives - the structure of the hydrocarbon itself being changed under chemical reaction, allowing the fuel to withstand low temperatures. Thanks to deeper purification and removal of sulphur compounds from feedstock, this product exceeds Euro-5 ecological standards, and is fully compliant with all Customs Union regulation.

'The Moscow Refinery responds flexibly to the city's needs, and to market demand. This new class of enhanced-performance winter diesel fuel guarantees uninterrupted operation for diesel engines, even during severe winters. Continuous improvement and technological development are facilitating production of the most environmentally friendly products, enjoying the greatest market demand.'
Vitaly ZuberDirector General, Gazprom Neft Moscow Refinery

Thanks to the Euro+ complex, the Moscow Refinery's product range has also been extended, with the addition of a high-performance G-Drive 100 gasoline. This high-tech fuel is designed for modern engines with an octane number of at least 95.

Notes for editors

The Gazprom Neft Moscow Refinery is the main supplier of fuels to the Moscow region, covering 40% of the capital's market. Gazprom Neft has been undertaking a full-scale modernisation programme at its Moscow Refinery since 2011, total investment in which is expected to reach more than RUB350 billion by 2025.

G-Drive fuels are new-generation gasolines, sold throughout the Gazpromneft filling station network. G-Drive is the official fuel of the G-Drive Racing team. This premium fuel, available through the Gazpromneft filling station network, is used by the team in testing, meaning its performance characteristics can be tested under extreme racing conditions, on the most sophisticated technology.
